Whole Class Exploration: Ordering and Comparing Rational Numbers
-groups of students were assigned rational numbers to compare the sizes of
-as a class, we determined the largest and smallest numbers that needed to appear on the number line
-once the "ends" of our number line were determined, each group of students added their numbers to a large number line drawn on the whiteboard
-as a class we checked the students' work to ensure that the numbers were correctly placed
Assignment: Students were given a handout which is due on Monday, October 22.
